Actor Lorenzo Lamas to Receive Golden Halo Award in Studio City May 12
By Jon Konjoyan
He was Lance Cumson on the popular 1980s soap opera “Falcon Crest,” Reno Raines on the 1990s crime drama “Renegade,” and Hector Ramirez on the daytime soap opera “The Bold and The Beautiful.” Now he’s the latest celebrity to receive a lifetime “Golden Halo” from the Southern California Motion Picture Council at the organization’s “78th Annual Founder’s Day Ball” at the Sportsmen’s Lodge in Studio City.
The Gala event is set for Monday, May 12, at 7 p.m. and the public is invited. Tickets include a gourmet buffet dinner and stage show.
Lamas is the son of Argentine actor Fernando Lamas and Norwegian-American actress Arlene Dahl. Other stars on hand to receive Golden Halos that night are to be announced. Also scheduled is a special tribute to the late Mickey Rooney, himself a past Golden Halo winner, and will feature an appearance by legendary Oscar-winning actress Margaret O’Brien.
The Southern California Motion Picture Council was founded in 1936 to promote high moral standards in entertainment. They present Golden Halo awards for the best in movies, television, plays and the performing arts. Past winners have included Tippi Hedren, Carol Channing, and Angie Dickinson.
Randal Malone, President of the Council, will again serve as Master of Ceremonies. Tickets are $50 in advance, $55 at the door and include dinner. To order tickets contact Elizabeth Gaudino at (626) 794-1968. Visit scmotionpicturecouncil.com.
