Bookkeeping Is An Honorable Trade
Financial record keepers have been a key part of commerce since the beginning of enterprise. For many years, bookkeepers have been a respected part of the business community. Bookkeeping skills are critical to making or breaking a business. With today’s technology, everything is faster and more efficient. However, in the trade of bookkeeping, technology can be a double-edged sword. Many popular software programs are promoted as the only thing needed to fulfill all bookkeeping functions. Many who work with these software programs call themselves bookkeepers. While useful, managing a software program does not make one as economically sound or as marketable as they would be if they mastered the fundamentals. Thus, Let’s Learn Bookkeeping was born!
Before becoming a CPA, I earned my living as a bookkeeper. I learned bookkeeping the old-fashioned way, essentially doing all aspects of bookkeeping manually, without the use of computers. I have come to the conclusion that my business clients would benefit from sound bookkeeping services. Also, business owners can be more effective fiscal managers if they have working knowledge of the bookkeeping function of their business.
LLB is a course that focuses on the old-fashioned academics of bookkeeping for the modern-day business. Students will master the fundamental concepts of bookkeeping, and at the end of the course will have confidence in their understanding of this honorable trade.
As an important and valuable benefit, LLB provides graduates with an internship program to assist them in gaining work experience. The next class begins Monday, June 22, 2009.
