Burbank Women’s Health Offers All-Female Roster of Doctors
Situated against the studio backdrops of Warner Bros. and Walt Disney Studios, Burbank Women’s Health, an obstetrics and gynecology practice of Providence Medical Institute, provides the only all-female practice within 20 miles of its location on Alameda Avenue.
The practice serves Burbank, Glendale, North Hollywood, and surrounding areas and caters to women from adolescence to menopause, specializing in high-risk pregnancy, infertility, and minimally invasive surgery. This practice, composed of Dawn Cashie, M.D., and Cheryl Twu, D.O., gives patients a comfortable environment to feel understood, accepted, and cared for. To help meet the neighborhood’s cultural diversity, there are doctors who speak Spanish and also Mandarin Chinese.
High-risk specialization is beyond medical certification, as Dr. Cashie has personal experience with complicated pregnancies.
Dr. Cashie, a mother of two, experienced high-risk pregnancies with both her children. Her compassion and understanding for her patients during sensitive matters is driven from similar concerns she faced in her own life. Dr. Cashie lives in the Burbank area and received her medical degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
Dr. Twu takes on a holistic approach through medicine, nutrition, and osteopathic manipulation to relate and care for her patients. It was her desire to learn more about her own body that encouraged her study of medicine. She received her medical degree from Touro University in Vallejo, Calif.
“After delivering my first baby, I knew that obstetrics and gynecology was something I wanted to specialize in. I continue to feel blessed each time I see the joy on the families’ faces, and I appreciate being a part of their shared experience. I feel I have done my job when I was able to help my patients’ feel relief from pain or other symptoms,” said Dr. Twu, a fellow of the American College of Osteopathy, Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
