Do you want to change your life? Do you want to be able to cope with the challenges that life brings?
The Science of Mind Spiritual Center is a safe place for you to grow wherever you may be on your spiritual journey. People of all faiths, backgrounds and walks of life are welcome.
When you feel like something is missing in your life or you can’t find meaning or value in what you do, where do you turn? What action do you take? It may be that your soul is homesick and until it finds complete union with its source, it can’t recover. We see a doctor if we are physically ill and we call on a therapist if our mind is out of sorts. But, where do we take our soul to be renewed, restored and refreshed?
In times like this, many are turning to God or a spiritual practice for the answers. Today there is a noticeable, profound spiritual movement—more people seeking a higher path, a better way, a more fulfilling life, both in giving and receiving.
SOM is a practice and a discipline that is life changing. Without a spiritual base and community, it is almost impossible to cope with life’s circumstances and conditions, which will always be present and forever changing. SOM teaches us resilience and gives us spiritual skills that instill greater faith. How we deal with what life hands us shows “the spiritual measure of the man.”
One of the many attributes of SOM is that is makes you aware of what you think. SOM advocates thinking for yourself. You will learn that you have the power within you to experience success in all areas of your life and that thoughts are things.
SOM teaches you how to let go of negative beliefs about yourself, make positive changes in your life, remove fear and instill a deep sense of trust. We do this by letting go of the past—old beliefs, old worn out habits and patterns—not by adding but by subtracting. Think of it is as an un-training and an un-learning.

The Sunday service is at The Colony Theatre (555 N. Third St., Burbank, CA. 91502). Schedule: 10:30am Healing Meditation; 11am one-hour service with live band and vocalist; and 11am Youth Center, ages 4-14 (teens are welcome to attend the 11am service as well). Accredited SOM classes reconvene on Wednesday, September 16. Each series is seven classes, one every Wednesday evening from 7-8:30pm in Van Nuys. For more information, call (818) 901-7600 or visit the Web site www.somspiritualcenterla.org. Meeting challenges keep us alive and growing! God Bless.
