Elegantly Renovated Suites Greet Guests at Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa
POIPU, Hawaii — Having completed a major guestroom revamp earlier this year, Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa has just finished a thorough renovation of their 37 suites. In the resort’s legendary Hawaiian classic style, suites offer all the comforts of home with a graceful elegance.
Creating an exclusive retreat for guests, tastefully appointed suites offer refined furnishings and design elements from land and sea. Hardwood flooring, artistic floral rugs, and furniture with timeless, clean lines pay homage to the iconic island home as the decor echoes the multi-cultural influences of the island. Asian flourishes accent the comfortable, modern lifestyle while blending seamlessly with Hawaiian touches as colors reflect the blue of the sea, white of the sand, and ochre of the land.
Garden, Ocean, and Deluxe Suites range from 1,000-1,800 square feet and feature a dining area with a granite top wet bar, spacious living areas, and a separate bedroom. The 2,400 plus square foot Presidential Suites offer a full kitchen and dining room, a living room, entertainment area with surround sound, two bathrooms, and a separate bedroom. All suites feature spacious decks, a bath with a whirlpool tub, walk-in rain style shower, double marble sink vanities, and all the amenities of home.
The standard guest room renovation, completed in April 2011, reflects the roots of Hawaii’s plants, people, and culture with the exclusive carved headboard portraying the native hapuu fern which was used by ancient Hawaiians for pillows and bedding. Mahogany furniture adds rich earth tones while linens, inspired by traditional kapa cloth prints, complement the warm hues. Stylized artwork pays homage to ancient Petroglyphs found in sandstone adjacent to the resort.
All rooms are designed to maximize guest comfort and convenience while advancing the resort’s conservation efforts. Adding to the resort’s list of environmental initiatives the renovation included Toto low-flow toilets, low VOC paints, recycled yarn carpet, and energy-saving ceiling fans. “Clean lines and crisp, fresh colors combine to create a relaxed elegance in our distinct Hawaiian classic style, making guests feel at home,” stated Doug Sears, general manager.
