Free American Heroes Air Show Lands at Hansen Dam Sat. June 21st
Buckle up for excitement when the nation’s premier aviation event devoted to helicopters returns to the San Fernando Valley Saturday, June 21st from 9am to 4pm at the Hansen Dam Recreation and Sports Complex, 11480 Foothill Blvd. in Lake View Terrace.
The community is invited to learn about the unique capabilities and critical role of rotary-wing aviation in law enforcement, fire service, national defense and homeland security at the admission-free American Heroes Air Show.
With helicopters from local, regional, state and Federal/Defense Dept. agencies, guests can get an up-close look at why these unique aircraft are often the first tool out of the toolbox in times of natural disasters, rescue operations or national security threats.
Guests will also have a chance to see some of the exciting elements from Disney’s upcoming feature film Planes: Fire & Rescue with a colorful interactive display that is loaded with activities. Games like “Smoke Jumpers Supply Drop” will test the skills of children of all ages, along with stickers, tattoos, coloring sheets and more, featuring characters from the big-screen adventure, opening in theaters July 18th.
The Heroes event also welcomes a true legend of aviation when Chuck Aaron performs his astonishing flight aerobatics in his specially designed helicopter.
There is also a CODE3 Career Expo, flight-seeing rides (available for a modest per-seat charge), the LA County Sheriffs’ Golden Stars skydiving team, concessions, flight demonstrations, mission briefings and a unique opportunity for your family to meet the local Heroes they can really look up to.
