Leadership Burbank Class of 2010 Presents a Visual Arts Contest

Burbank—Past, Present, Future—What Does it Mean to You?

Whether you live, work, learn, or play in Burbank, Leadership Burbank Class of 2010 along with Burbank Arts Education Foundation wants you to show us what it means to you! Display your civic pride by reminiscing about the past, capturing the present, or envisioning the future of Burbank through visual art and photography.
The Leadership Burbank Art Contest welcomes one entry per person in the form of either visual arts or photography. Entries will be accepted in the following divisions: Grades K-4, Grades 5-8, Grades 9-12, and adults. Artwork and completed entry forms will be accepted via mail or delivery starting March 15, 2010, through April 1, 2010. All winners will be notified by Thursday, April 15.
Prizes are $100 for first place, $75 for second, and $50 for third for each age-level category. In addition to cash prizes, the winning artwork will be “on tour” displaying first at the Downtown Burbank Arts Festival (April 24-25), then traveling to the Main Branch of the Burbank Public Library during the month of May, and then at the Burbank airport during the month of June.
“The Burbank community is so rich with artistic talent, and it all starts with our children. Visiting Burbank’s past, present, and future is a wonderful way to showcase our student and community talent, while celebrating Burbank’s wonderful heritage,” said Jessica Good, Executive Director of the Burbank Arts Education Foundation.
“This is a great opportunity for both children and adults alike to be a part of Burbank’s historic journey, by exploring through art what is special about this city. I encourage everyone, young and old, to take part in this wonderful event,” stated Karen Broderick, Burbank Council PTA, Arts Co-Coordinator.
The Leadership Burbank Class of 2010 invites residents of all ages to join the fun and excitement of displaying your civic pride, submit your art and enter to win.
