Peaches & Herb, Pat Boone Star in Maranatha High Benefit Show

PASADENA — It was a night of music as Peaches & Herb’s Linda Tavani and Herb Fame were “Reunited” and ‘50s crooner Pat Boone sang “April Love” at Maranatha High School’s annual Gala at the Ambassador Auditorium in Pasadena.
“The Show,” organized by the school’s Parent Association, served as a community celebration and helped inaugurate a new Professional Development fund for its faculty.
Students, parents, faculty and staff attended in support of furthering the education mission of the non-denominational college preparatory Christian school.
Back together after 30 years, Peaches & Herb sang their ‘70’s smash hits “Reunited” and “Shake Your Groove Thing.” Special Guest Pat Boone crooned “April Love” and “Under God.” The veteran star also shared some inspirational words with students, asking them to make God a priority in their lives and to be blessed in their future.
The grand performance was accompanied by MUV (Man Up Vision), a professional dance team that has performed on TV’s America’s Best Dance Crew and America’s Got Talent.
Linda “Peaches” Tavani and husband Stephen Tavani closed the event with a song from their gospel album “Hala-Hallelujah.” The Tavanis lead a missionary program called “W.O.W. (Winning the World) Jams” which reaches out to urban cities with a message of hope. Their twin daughters Nikola and Sierra are seniors at Maranatha.
