The place for celebrities to start their holiday hunt for glamour, glitz, and gifts was at GBK’s recent event celebrating the 2013 American Music Awards. In keeping with host Gavin Keilly’s spirit of generosity, he presented “a gift lounge for a cause, featuring a celebrity poker tournament and fundraiser” just before Thanksgiving.

Of course all the celebrities and VIPs who attended were giving thanks, and among them were Shark Tank’s investor-with-a-heart Robert Herjavec, Pitch Perfect’s Shelley Regner, Scandal’s Khandi Alexander, American Music Awards red carpet host Carly Steel, and nominee Matthew West, The Game’s Jay Ellis, The Hunger Games’ E. Roger Mitchell, Elena Sanchez, and Stef Dawson, to name a few. Gathering at the L’Ermitage in Beverly Hills, they enjoyed a glimpse at the hottest trends and products sure to be on Santa’s list.

It was an entertaining atmosphere with music from DJ Shy, and the event was followed by a celebrity poker tournament which aimed to raise money for Model Citizen Fund. The Model Citizen Fund’s mission is to distribute life-sustaining backpacks filled with 150 items that include food, health, and survival essentials to the homeless and disaster victims, giving them the tools and confidence to build/rebuild their lives.

Also embodying the spirit of the season was Child Support Clothing, a fashion line that strives to make a difference in the lives of children living in desperate situations. A tee-shirt with a stork carrying a baby bundle from their line delighted Melissa Rycroft, The Bachelor alum and winner of Dancing with the Stars: All Stars, because she and hubby Tye Strickland are expecting their own bundle of joy next year. Her DWTS’ partner Tony Dovolani was also there spreading joy.

The array of fabulous beauty products included Carmex Moisture Plus’ fashion-forward lip balm line; Grandelash MD to enhance longer, thicker lashes and Grande Mascara; Herbalosophy Beauty professional hair care system gifted their botanical and herbal hair care line; Bella Mira Essential Oils offered therapeutic essential oils; and Mark Hill Salon Professional is named after one of Britain’s hottest celebrity hair stylists who recently launched a new hair care line.

The fashion and accessory products featured were Rolf Bleu™ by Caryn Sterling, the ultimate “tech meets chic” cross body iPad covers in color combos that are on trend; Jada Michaels Lingerie’s super-hot lingerie collection for women of all sizes; Contraband Hats specializing in fedoras, snapbacks, and beanies; Wolfhardt men and ladies’ leather accessories; Cohesive men’s contemporary sportswear line; and ultra-stylish denim from Boom Boom Jeans and One5One.

Unique gifts are always a part of GBK lounges, such as BLOW HOOKAH, a revolutionary hookah minus the smoke and fire, etc; Dazadi.com the top destination for awesome game and home fitness rooms; the Alto Collective with two brothers creating distinct luxury wood products that excel in both form and function with their handcrafted phone cases and longboards; Liquor Whipped had flavored vodka and yummy vodka infused whipped cream; Palace Resorts and Caribbean Living gifted a Moon Palace resort vacation; and The St. Regis Bora Bora Resort was featured.

Nibbling on tasty tacos from Jaliscos Mobile Taco Grill were other notable guests including Homeland’s Shaun Toub, Hostages’ Toni Trucks, BooBoo Stewart, Jai Rodriguez, James Kyson, Emma Kenney, Keith Harris, Toks Olagundoye from ABC’s hit sitcom The Neighbors, and Niecy Nash, who was giving thanks that her comedy The Soul Man was just picked up for a third season on TV Land, “ready to spread more laughter in the new year.”
