This Was A Lovely Unique Event…
Nicole Sherwin with Wellness2Day.com’s inaugural invitation-only Green Lounge. The eco luxury experience at the eco-conscious Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel was a delight. The Green Lounge was an eco-luxurious experience and featured a wellness symposium with speakers Alicia Silverstone (actress, author and environmental advocate), Debbie Levin (President of the Environmental Media Association), Jason Nelson (self-empowerment coach) and hosted by FOX 11 news anchor Christine Devine and Darren Moore (Alter Eco).
The guest list included influential tastemakers, CEOs and industry leaders in natural wellness and sustainability, along with celebrities Daphne Zuniga, Vanessa Lingoes, Christian Campbell, Ghazi Shiraz Dallam and Sebastian Siegel to name a few.
The keynote speaker was Silverstone who wowed the guests with her inspiring talk about her new book “The Kind Diet” where she offers insight and advice on living a healthier, more balanced life. In the Green Lounge, Alicia Silverstone’s recipes were brought to life with her healthy, irresistible chocolate peanut butter cups.
Guests were dazzled as the hotel’s Ocean and Vine Restaurant was magically transformed into a green Oz-like Emerald. They stopped by each luxury green suite to sample and buy some of the Green Lounge partner’s products, including handmade patinas from Zelda, luxury mattresses by Hastens on Beverly, elegant eco shoes by Terra Plana, sustainable furniture by D’Bodinus as well as Viesso and Animavi, clothing designers Linda Loudermilk, EcoSkin and bGreen Apparel, and the VIP hybrid transportation and cars were provided by Mike Sullivan’s family of dealers at LA Car Guy.
Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel, a proud partner of EPA’s Energy Star program, was awarded the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce Sustainability Award in 2008.

We Attended the Book Signing of Andre Agassi’s…
Controversial new book, “Open: An Autobiography” at Borders in Century City. Of course the line was endless but, fortunately, I met Agassi’s manager, Steve Miller, a charming affable guy who signed Agassi when he was sixteen and has been with him ever since. Miller got me in front of Agassi, and I got my book signed by him. Miller entertained us with some great anecdotes that are in the book: When football star Jim Brown wanted to play tennis in Las Vegas and there was no one with whom he could play, Agassi’s father told him to play his ten-year-old son. Brown laughed and said he’d beat him in two seconds. The wily Agassi Sr. bet him $10,000 and went to get his money. In the meantime, Brown played two sets with the young Agassi and was beaten twice, badly, and only after getting beaten badly again, in a third set, did Brown accede to paying a bet of $500. Open is a great read.
Another Great Book to Read…
Is written by Carmine Gallo, a presentation, media training and communication skills coach for the world’s most admired brands.
His book is entitled “The Presentation Secrets of Steve Jobs: How to Be Insanely Great in Front of Any Audience.” It is a terrific read—a lot of quotes by Jobs, and every chapter provides tools and strategies to implement in your next presentation. The book is available on Amazon.com, in Barnes & Noble stores or wherever books are sold.
