Memorial Service for Jim and Jeannine Veraldi
Toluca Lake residents and St. Charles parishioners for over 45 years, Jim and his Jeannine spent fifteen years helping the poor in Gujarat, India under the direction of Fr. Herbert de Souza SJ.
Jim (Dec. 29, 1924 – Oct. 14, 2008) was a WWII veteran and attended Ford Trade School in Detroit, Michigan. His Burbank aerospace company, Veradyne Corp. — which he ran for over 50 years, was instrumental in putting the first man on the moon.
Jeannine (Jun. 3, 1934 – Apr. 17, 2009) was a staff writer for the Herald Examiner, got her Master’s degree at Loyola Marymount in Religious Studies, taught at St. Finbars and coordinated many charity fundraising events.
Jim was the last of eight Veraldi brothers and sisters (Rosemary O’Rourke of Burbank, Anita Chiodo of Mission Hills and Norma Bailey of Arleta), and is survived by his third wife, Joanna Veraldi, daughter Rebecca of Panorama City, his son Jamie of North Hollywood and daughter Nancy of Sherman Oaks.
Jeannine Veraldi is survived by an adopted brother Paul Higgins of Casselberry, Florida, Michael Higgins of Tampa, Florida – and both are survived by their favorite niece Teri O’Rourke of Cambria, California.
