Crew Is Bitten
Wily Peralta made easy work of the Dodgers in a 7-2 blitz last Sunday at the Stadium as Milwaukee swept the Blue Crew (70-56) over the weekend.
Peralta (15-7) struck out five, walked three, allowed no runs and five hits in six innings, and was supported by Jonathan Lucroy’s five runs batted in that included a two-run homer in the first and three-run double in the second off Dan Haren (10-10), who lasted three innings.
Andre Ethier doubled and scored on Scott Van Slyke’s double in the eighth, and newly-acquired Darwin Barney’s two-base hit plated Van Slyke.
Clayton Kershaw (14-3) dropped a 3-2 decision to the Brewers on Saturday, yielded five hits, one of which was a two-run shot in the fourth by Ryan Braun (15th), fanned 11 and walked none over nine innings.
Justin Turner had an RBI in the fourth, Matt Kemp a solo blast (15th) in the ninth, and Carl Crawford two singles with a run scored.
Zack Greinke went five innings, was tagged with two hits, walked a season-high five and struck out six as the Dodgers led 2-0, on Friday, but the bullpen gave up six runs as Milwaukee prevailed, 6-3.
Dee Gordon slapped three hits, scored four runs and stole two bases in the Dodgers’ 6-4 drilling of host Atlanta on Thursday.
Adrian Gonzalez collected three RBIs (team-best 83rd) and three hits, while Yasiel Puig had three hits with an RBI, and recently-signed Roberto Hernandez (7-8) gave up three hits and one run (earned) in six frames.
Hyun-Jin Ryu departed after five and two-third innings with an injury and the Dodgers fell 3-2 to the Braves on Wednesday.
Andrelton Simmons drove in two runs and Justin Upton knocked in the other off Ryu (13-6), who was nicked for six hits and three earned runs.
Haren’s six-hitter with two earned runs, seven strikeouts and two walks across six innings pushed the Dodgers past the Braves, 4-2, on Tuesday, as Crawford walloped three hits with a run tallied.
Crawford (three hits) had two RBIs with a run, and Gonzalez two hits with an RBI in the Dodgers’ 6-2 shellacking of Atlanta on Monday.
