“STILTZ! The Musical” Spins Into Gold at Actors Forum
“Stiltz! The Musical” is a modern day version of the classic tale Rumpelstiltskin as a young woman, Lacey Miller, becomes willing to risk her own future and a true love in order to save the life of her well meaning, yet financially bumbling father. This damsel in distress is imprisoned in an office and expected to raise the funds needed to get her father out of a crooked business deal. Can she raise the money to save her father and herself as well? What’s a girl to do?
With a number of fun and well-written songs by Deborah Johnson, it is well worth the journey and it is a time and a tale for the whole family. It’s a musical on a small well-used stage that will delight all ages — a rarity. So take advantage of it.
The production, directed by Wayland Pickard and Doug Engalla and choreographed by Michelle Bernath, features Gwendolyn Druyor, Ross Kramer, Larry Lederman, Alli Miller, Robert Moon, Suzan Solomon and Daved Wilkins. This is seven well-casted and versatile performers who pull off the songs and dances and perhaps even a bit of gymnastics. Special kudos to Alli Miller, as she glided through even a few unexpected things and brought a special shine in the leading role.
The show plays Friday and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and a Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. at the Actors Forum in the NoHo Arts District, 10655 Magnolia Blvd. For more information, visit TheaterMania.com or www.StiltzTheMusical.com or call (323) 822-7898.
