Band Presents Diversity in Members, Music
The Front Porch Band is a seven-piece American roots band whose elements reflect the diversity of its members. Whether it’s blues, country blues or bluegrass, the Front Porch Band will move you to the groove and amaze you with its masterful musicianship.
Judy “Mama J” Rudin– harmonica/vocals
Judy has been playing harp for over 40 years, recording with the multi-platinum band 4 Non-Blondes, Michelle Shocked, and Crazy Horse. She has performed with Jimmy Buffett, and the Doobie Brothers and has opened for countless acts including Alice Cooper, John Mellencamp, Poco, Jerry Jeff Walker, Mitch Ryder and Johnny & Edgar Winter.
Joel Wachbrit — guitar/vocals
A highly respected LA area guitarist, Joel is also a successful songwriter and composer for film and television.
Michael Monogan – drums/ vocals
Michael is the guitar player, songwriter and founder of the kids of Widney High, a band of developmentally challenged kids from Widney High, a special education school in downtown L.A.
Bob “Boo” Bernstein– pedal steel, dobro
Boo has performed or recorded with such artists as Freddy Fender, Dwight Yoakam, Emmylou Harris, and Tanya Tucker. He was also the featured steel guitarist on the academy award-winning score for “Brokeback Mountain.”
Spero Anthony – bass
Spero, active in the local music scene, has played bass and guitar with top reggae artists from around the world.
Tom Corbett – mandolin/guitar/vocals
Noted mandolinist/guitarist, Tom has played with the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Los Lobos.
Brantley Kearns – fiddle/vocals
North Carolina’s master of the fiddle, Brantley has played with Dave Alvin, R.E.M., Dr. Dre and Dwight Yoakum.
The band will host their next show on Oct. 17 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Original Farmer’s Market, 3rd and Fairfax streets on the West Patio.
