Come Celebrate Grand Opening of Modern Furnishings

NOHO I.D. Modern Furnishings.

The NoHo Arts District is definitely undergoing urban gentrification, culturally, artistically, and physically, with massive urban renovation and restoration.

Ray Newton’s brand new opening of his furniture showroom, NOHO I.D. Modern Furnishings, on Lankershim, is one fine example. Dan Debevoise of NoHo Gallery LA was one of the enthusiastic attendees and exhibitors, partaking in the fun this past Saturday night, as Ray celebrated both his birthday and the store’s grand opening.

NoHo Gallery, a landmark in the area, features an art exhibit showcasing some of NoHo’s top talent and their unique works of art. Another incredibly talented artist had his works on display as well; Jesse Raudales, with abstract contemporary pop art, an abstract photo of Obama — his artwork likens that of Andy Warhol.

Newton’s goal is to have an inviting space for locals and tourists alike, who meander into the store, before/after a theater performance, enabling people to enjoy, admire, and purchase unique, exquisite art, sculptures, and furniture. An exotic Caribbean menu was enjoyed, hosted by the Art and Bodies of Naked Catering LA; while live musical performances by R&B singer/songwriter Darius Shipp and the talented ladies of the musical group Breaking Day were a highlight of the evening.

A silent auction featured works of art from H Studio Designs, with proceeds going to Hands For Hope Free After School Programs.

All in attendance were privileged to see and purchase a magnificent display of artwork, integrating modern interior design with eclectic furnishings and accessories, to suit every person’s individual taste and style. States Debevoise, “Ray Newton has always been connected to this community and also concerned with charitable causes, such as Hands For Hope…. As a curator, I have some artists and art collectors here, people who are truly committed to the development of NoHo’s business district and visual art appreciation.”

This type of high end furniture store is what’s really needed in this community, amidst all the sports venues and gyms. It will bring visibility, enlightenment, culture, and added awareness to the visual arts industry once again. NoHo’s urban revival and renovation is ongoing, with the same vibrancy and energy found in the famed arts district of SoHo, in Manhattan. NOHO I.D. Modern Furnishings will blend in beautifully, in this burgeoning eclectic artistic community, amidst the galleries, theatres, and restaurants, and retail establishments continuing to thrive. Many of the furniture can also be seen in films, TV shows, and music videos, and he tells me a truckload of pieces were just picked up by the crew of the motorcycle club television drama Sons of Anarchy.

NOHO I.D. Modern Furnishings is located at 4870 Lankershim Blvd. in North Hollywood. For more information, call (818) 691-3958 or visit www.nohoid.com.
