One Starry Night ALS Benefit at The Pasadena Playhouse, Monday, Jan. 13
Do you want to see great performances and support an important cause? “One Starry Night – Hollywood and Broadway Stars Come Together to Fight ALS is a benefit show at The Pasadena Playhouse, Jan. 13. As one of the performers, I see it as an event that inspires each of us to step forward and help another person. And audiences can share the joy of being part of the party,” says Kay Cole, an original cast member of Broadway’s A Chorus Line. Of course she’ll perform “What I did for Love,” and Cole has choreographed a fun number from the musical Annie.
The Starry Night show will be filled with crowd-pleasing numbers from an ensemble of extraordinary performers. The cast includes Richard Sherman (Oscar-winning composer for Mary Poppins, portrayed in Saving Mr. Banks), Kerry O’Malley, Amy Paffrath, Barry Pearl, Drew Seeley, Daniel Tatar, and funnyman Bruce Vilanch. Directed by Bruce Kimmel with musical direction by Richard Allen, co-produced by Jonathan White and Juliana Hansen, the event will also feature Obba Babatunde, James Barbour, Daisy Eagan, Crow Garrett, Ilene Graff, Juliana Hansen, Melora Hardin, Jean Louisa Kelly, Jason and Nolan Livesay, Jonathan Pendragon, Joan Ryan, Rex Smith, and Terri White, with special appearances by Terri Ivens, Kate Linder, and Charlene Tilton, and many more.
Kay Cole says, “It’s the joy of getting together and performing with people you don’t see very often. It’s also the joy of being an audience. You get to watch and cheer each other on.” So it will be a treat for everyone to be part of this special event and support a vital cause, ALS care services. In addition to the performance, the evening will include a silent auction at 7 p.m., and a VIP post-show meet-and-greet.
Juliana Hansen and Jonathan White are presenting the show hosted by The Pasadena Playhouse (39 S. El Molino Ave., Pasadena) on Jan. 13 at 8 p.m. A 30% discount is offered on tickets with the code BLOG30. Tickets are available online www.PasadenaPlayhouse.org/onestarrynight or call (626) 356-7529.
