Rockin’ With the Ages & The Pink Lady Present a World Premiere Musical Event, The Beat Goes On! A Celebration of the Young at Heart

Jackie Goldberg aka “The Pink Lady.”

“I’m walking on air. I really am, because I’m a young 80-year-old with a great show,” says Jackie Goldberg, who everyone affectionately calls The Pink Lady, because she is always seen glowing in a fabulous pink ensemble.

An extraordinary motivational speaker, Jackie Goldberg has produced several highly successful Rockin’ With the Ages variety revues. Now she continues to present great entertainment, featuring talented performers over the age of 60, with her latest production The Beat Goes On! A Celebration of the Young at Heart.

It is a world premiere musical event presented by Rockin’ With the Ages and The Pink Lady, playing from Oct. 4 to Nov. 25 at the Theatre of Arts Arena Stage inHollywood. Written, choreographed, and directed by Ovation Award-winner Cate Caplin, it also has musical direction by David O for Senior Star Power Productions.

“Wait until you see this show, you will not believe the talent in our ensemble. I’m so excited,” says Goldberg, the energetic producer, actress, and entrepreneur. “Audiences can expect a show that is not only fun and uplifting, but sassy and sexy. It will show that people have a lot to offer after they reach 60. We’re alive and well and ready to sizzle.”

“The Beat Goes On” is the perfect title for this edition of Rockin’ With the Ages, which will offer songs from all eras. “We do everything. It’s a treasure trove of great songs, all with the uplifting theme of being young and celebrating being young at heart. That philosophy can be enjoyed by young people as well. It’s a celebration of life is what it is, and a real professional showcase, better than anything we’ve done in the past,” Goldberg explains.

Embracing the philosophy that talent has no expiration date, the inspiring Pink Lady says, “By-the-way I just got my 501c3 nonprofit status from the government, which means I can now go after the grants that I want for a senior complex. My aim is to create a complex with a theatre inHollywoodto present shows all year long featuring senior performers. Our experience is valuable. Whether you are an artist, teacher, historian, or a writer, what you have experienced in your life does not fade away after 60. In fact it grows. I want the world to understand that.”

The motivational dynamo has a true calling to show the world just how vital, productive, creative, energetic, and entertaining people are at 60, 70, 80, and 90, and up. “That’s what I do, and I really am blessed everyday that I’m alive, and I’m able to do what I can to help others.”

Everyone is a headliner in the Rockin’ With the Ages shows, which always has talent streaming non-stop across the stage. Included in The Beat Goes On cast are Bobbi Stamm, Dominick Morra, and Phyllis Lovit.  Even in the youth obsessed entertainment industry, there’s no denying that the seasoned performers in the shows, with impressive credits on stage, screen, and TV, are singers and dancers who deserve the spotlight performing classic and contemporary musical numbers.

But it’s Jackie Goldberg who deserves the biggest bow for putting these seniors (but not old) performers in the spotlight. The Lady with the “Think Pink Mojo” would like everyone to see life through rose-colored glasses as she does. Her motto is to live, love, and laugh your way through the Golden Years. In her seminar series “Get Up, Get Out, and Get a Life,” she shows the world that people over 60 are still positive, energetic, and productive.

Hello Hollywood, are you listening? Agents and casting directors scouting for talent should attend the shows and make an effort to keep the senior stars active in the performing arts.

The Beat Goes On from Oct. 4 to Nov. 25, at the Theatre of Arts Arena Stage located at1625 N. Las Palmas Ave. inHollywood (behind the Egyptian Theatre).
