Nestled amongst five acres of gardens and athletic fields in the San Fernando Valley, you will find 300 kindergarten through sixth grade students at Laurence School learning and laughing, reading and experimenting, coding, calculating and writing.

Grounded in its six-decade-long philosophy of educating the “Total Child,” Laurence strives to develop the unique abilities and potential of each of its students by providing a strong, traditional academic curriculum that addresses the needs of grade-level and highly accelerated learners. Our dedicated administration, faculty and staff create a safe and secure learning environment, where students’ individual interests are encouraged.

At Laurence, we guide our students to think creatively and critically, to engage in their educational experiences and to become lifelong learners.

Laurence students matriculate to the finest secondary schools in Los Angeles and attend the country’s best colleges, prepared for higher learning by their strong K-6 elementary foundation. From study skills to public speaking experience to applied mathematics and technology skills, Laurence students have the tools necessary for success in the 21st century.

Our innovative curriculum includes: a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) program, competitive Math Club, our award-winning Kids’ Court, global and environmental education, extensive performing arts program, school-wide community service projects, mindfulness and character education, focused on helping our students grow socially and emotionally.

Laurence also offers a competitive interscholastic sports program and diverse enrichment classes, including orchestra, theatre, dance, visual arts, coding, robotics and more.
