What can be more stressful than hosting the entire family during the holidays? Cooking for an army, endless entertaining and cleaning around the clock are all surefire ways to exhaust the holiday spirit. This year, invite family and friends to gather at the newly renovated Sheraton Universal, and let their restaurant, The Californias, play hostess while you celebrate the season at one of L.A.’s most iconic landmarks.
Californias Restaurant serves contemporary cuisine with a regional accent in a relaxed, sophisticated setting. This Thanksgiving, Chef Reza Motamednia has created a menu that incorporates traditional holiday fare and a few local favorites. Start the celebration with a choice of a traditional pumpkin soup with Maryland crabmeat or a shrimp cocktail with a selection of dips. Entrée choices include oven roasted turkey (served with Yukon gold mashed potatoes, maple glazed yams, baby carrots, squash, giblet gravy and cranberry sauce), grilled Black Angus rib eye steak (served with roasted fingerling potatoes, root vegetables and horseradish butter), and panko crusted pacific sea bass (served with champagne essence and green peppercorns, Boston baked beans, fall vegetables).
The dessert menu includes pumpkin cheesecake topped with eggnog cream and raspberries and pecan nut pie with caramel sauce.
Californias Restaurant at the Sheraton Universal is open Thanksgiving from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thanksgiving dinner is $35 for adults and $19 for children under 10 years old.
