A taste of Centanni

Centanni Trattoria, the Italian restaurant that has been wowing people in Venice for over seven years, opened a spot in Burbank last year. It’s offering up a plethora of authentic Italian cuisine – from Tagliata to Melanzane ala Parmigiana – with Chef/Partner Marin Santos at the helm.

Co-Owners Alex Paez and Helen Wasell-Paez opened the original Centanni with Executive Chef Marin Santos. Santos began his career in 1991 at Primi which led to his becoming Executive Chef at Valentino and finally Dolce, which is where he and Helen worked together.

Chef Santos has over 25 years of experience cooking and working in various restaurants in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Italy. When Helen mentioned what she and Alex had in mind, they found themselves fitting in perfectly with each other and their shared vision.

Alex and Helen have their own unique meeting story – both were working actors who met while doing a play together in London’s West End. When not performing, Helen was managing Italian restaurants in London (her other passion) while Alex too managed restaurants in New York and Los Angeles.

With Chef Santos on board, the team concentrated on creating an experience that would delight customers and Centanni was born. In March of 2015, Centanni came to Burbank and their history is being created every day with mouth-watering dishes and specialities.

Walking into a Centanni you are immediately greeted with a heartfelt “welcome” as all three owners like to stay on site as much as possible.

With ambient lighting, cozy, sleek black furniture, orchid arrangements and a bar, it’s a great place for a memorable dining experience—an experience that features homemade pasta, fresh ingredients and homemade desserts.

And that’s “La cosa di Centanni.”
