Toluca Lakes’ popular Italian restaurant/pizzeria is adding new dimensions! Though only eight months old, the new and exciting Italian bistro has been getting great reviews on its authentic Italian food inspired by Chef Cristina Fontanella from Venezia, Italy.
After several weeks, the popular classic rock trio “The Drinks” have begun to attract wide attention to their acoustic music styling’s of 60’s and 70’s favorites. (They are currently in the studio producing their first album which will be released shortly.)
Because of the success of the trio, CiaoCristina will be expanding its weekend music program. On Friday night, guitarist Ron Anthony, who played with Frank Sinatra and George Shearing among others, will be performing classic favorites.
Beginning November 28, vocalist Julie Schwaba will be performing with a variety of guest artists including Rick Puente and her Uncle Mike. Julie has performed many times with “The Drinks” at CiaoCristina, and it will be like coming home.
Besides the new music, CiaoCristina has recently expanded its regular dining menu. In addition to more pizza favorites, they have added more pasta sauces such as Vodka and the Southern Italian favorite, Polpette (or meatballs). Other dishes include risotto and a larger panini selection.
CiaoCristina’s beer choices have also expanded. They have added some craft beers brewed locally from Stone Brewing. They offer not only Stone’s popular India Pale Ale but also the in-your-face American Strong Ale ‘Arrogant Bastard’, which states on their ads “This beer is not for you.”
CiaoCristina is located at 4201 W. Olive Ave. in Toluca Lake. For more information, call (818) 563-2426.
