Granada Restaurant’s Commitment to Quality Has Made It a Burbank Mainstay
By Patty Schaller
These days, you can find a Mexican restaurant on every corner, but when you’re in the mood for authentic Mexican cuisine served in a friendly atmosphere for reasonable prices, the place to head is the Granada Restaurant in Burbank.
Opened in 1971, the restaurant has had amazing staying power in a business that’s constantly changing. According to Angel Gomez, who has been with the Granada for 25 years, the reason the Granada has succeeded where others have failed comes down to two things: consistently good food and a warm and friendly atmosphere.
“Our recipes are the ones from the original chefs,” he says. “And our staff has, for the most part, been here for 20 to 25 years. We have customers who come generation after generation. Our customers know us and feel at home. They love our food and drinks.”
The customers kept coming back, even after a year-long hiatus to reorganize in 2010, and the staff came back too. “The first day we re-opened, we didn’t know if we would have many people. We opened our doors at 10 a.m. and didn’t close until 1 a.m. the next day.”
Granada Restaurant is located at 1100 W. Victory Blvd. in Burbank. They can be reached at (818) 843-0313.
