For fans of fresh, high-quality bakery goods and home-style traditional dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, discover Natas Pastries, Café, and Restaurant. Located on Ventura Boulevard in Sherman Oaks (next to Casa Vega), Natas offers all this plus beer and wine, catering and delivery, and features a room available for parties.

Chef/owner Fatima Marques, a Portuguese native and longtime Valley resident, took no shortcuts in preparing the recipes for the pastries and divine desserts that fill her gorgeous cases. She meticulously and authentically reproduced the sweets she grew up loving.

The meals at Natas are also prepared with the same loving detail. For lunch you might want to try the Caldo Verde, a classic kale soup, or the Delicias do Mar, a delicious seafood salad with baby shrimp, or the Prosciutto sandwich drizzled with Portuguese unfiltered olive oil, tomatoes, and fresh basil.

At dinner check the ChouriÇo sausage, flambéed at the table on a traditional pig-shaped ceramic brazier and finish with the Bacalhau, Portugal’s ubiquitous salt cod served here in the most traditional versions. And then there’s dessert with extensive choices to choose from, but whatever you decide, it will be worth every single bite.
