An inspiring message from Bishop Alemany High School

Editor’s note: The following message from Bishop Alemany High School was issued recently by Bob Warren, their Community Outreach executive:

Alemany students, parents, faculty and staff collected over $2,500 for St. Michael the Archangel High School Warrior families in Baton Rouge, Louisiana last week.  The school and its families suffered major losses due to the recent Baton Rouge floods. 60 St. Michael’s families lost their homes.

A special thank you to the social justice and honors sacraments students for their leadership of the collection. We are also most grateful to the Administration, Religion Department, Campus Ministry, Front Office, Business Office, Dave Urbach, Coach Washington and the football team, Fr. Norm, Sr. Sara, Caron Willits and the many others who helped make a difference for the St. Michael’s families.

After the 1994 Northridge earthquake, Alycia Corcoran ( then ASB secretary) told us that schools from across the country sent checks and kind wishes to Alemany. The efforts of these schools buoyed the Alemany spirit during a difficult time.

St. Michael’s Principal Ellen Lee has expressed gratitude from the St. Michael’s, Baton Rouge community for Alemany’s support and prayers.
