Maranatha High School invites eighth grade students and their families to “Discover the Maranatha Difference” as they consider high school placement for the 2011-12 school year.
Maranatha is a college preparatory Christian high school located on eleven picturesque acres in Pasadena (adjacent to Old Town). Maranatha offers a high school experience where individual talents are celebrated and nurtured, skills are prepared for a successful college experience, and students are encouraged to grow in their faith.
The school’s athletic program boasts 44 teams in 18 sports and features a state-of-the-art athletic field, pool and gymnasium. Performing arts students showcase their drama, vocal and dance talents on stage at the renowned Ambassador Auditorium. The sharpest minds are challenged with 29 AP and honors courses from which to choose, and every student can find their niche in one of the 19 student clubs and organizations.
Virtually all of Maranatha’s students continue on to a wide variety of 4-year colleges, including Johns Hopkins, Westmont, USC, Baylor, Seattle Pacific, Wheaton, NYU, Pitzer, Harvey Mudd, Point Loma, West Point, the UC schools, and art and design schools.
Maranatha is accredited by WASC and ACSI. The school recognizes the need for students to develop as whole persons and offers opportunities in athletics, performing arts, international missions, community service and leadership training.
