Columbia College Hollywood, a premier private accredited film college in Los Angeles, is offering 4-year scholarships to high school film students based on the quality of film-related work submitted by the student. To be eligible, applicants must be enrolled in a Los Angeles area high school and begin their studies at CCH in fall 2012. Applicants are also required to attend an upcoming CCH Experience Day (Open House) with a parent or guardian. The schedule of 2011 CCH Experience Days are Sept. 24, Oct. 15 and Nov. 12.
“We value academic achievement and we celebrate it in many ways,” says Richard Kobritz, CCH President & CEO. “But equally important is the expression of a unique, original voice through the media of film and television.”
“Students who have a C+ average are just as likely to receive this scholarship as A+ students because the expression of great filmmaking comes from passion, not grades,” says Bruce Postman, Director of Student Recruitment.
Films by CCH films have won numerous awards this past year including a Student Academy Award nomination and a British Academy of Film & TV Arts Student Award. At a CCH Experience day, students and their families will learn about the scholarship, see CCH award winning films, get a tour of the college, meet students, instructors and administrators, as well as enjoy a complimentary lunch.
