PASADENA, CA — Mayfield Junior School of the Holy Child Jesus, a Catholic, independent, coeducational day school for kindergarten–grade 8, is now accepting applications for all grade levels for fall 2012 admission. Established in 1931 by the Sisters of the Holy Child Jesus, today, Mayfield Junior School continues the tradition of Holy Child education by providing a strong program that balances challenging academics with the arts and athletics. In the belief that children learn not only from teachers and materials but also from one another, Mayfield seeks students from diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
In the Lower School (grades K-4) the program is designed to cultivate enthusiasm for the educational journey and to nurture academic strengths and confidence. In the middle school (grades 5-8), a rigorous academic course of study challenges students to reach their full potential.
As a Catholic school and a member of the Holy Child Network of Schools, the overall curriculum reflects and supports our Catholic heritage and commitment to Holy Child goals and philosophy. Strong emphasis is placed on building character, respect and responsibility for oneself and others and giving back through outreach opportunities. The entire program is supported by dedicated and innovative faculty members who encourage discovery and foster a love of learning. Our graduates are prepared to be successful at the finest secondary schools in the greater Pasadena/Los Angeles area and beyond.
Mayfield Junior School is hosting several admissions tours this fall and early winter.
