St. Genevieve High School: A Hidden Gem in the San Fernando Valley

St. Genevieve High School is the first Catholic school in the nation and the first high school in California to receive the prestigious National School of Character designation by the Washington DC-based Character Education Partnership.

St. Genevieve High Schoolis a private, co-ed, Catholic school located in the heart of theSan Fernando Valley. Founded in 1959, SGHS has been teaching and mentoring young men and women in grades 9-12 for the last 53 years.

SGHS offers a cutting edge, college preparatory curriculum with a full range of Advanced Placement (AP) courses. The combined passing rate of students who took the Calculus and Foreign Language exams is 96 percent.  Of our graduating seniors, 99 percent pursue higher education and 1 percent proudly serves our country in the armed forces.

In 2003, SGHS became the first Catholic school in the nation and the first high school inCaliforniato receive the prestigious National School of Character designation by the Washington DC-based Character Education Partnership. Each year the school hosts guest speakers from all walks of life, including mayors, prominent business leaders, and even a former president of theUnited States.

At present, SGHS is a thriving school with award winning sports, music, dance, and academic programs. We offer 33 sports teams.  Last year, 12 of the 13 varsity teams made it to CIF playoffs and three were league champions.
