The Only Humanistic Jewish Congregation and Secular Sunday School In Greater Los Angeles!

Parents and kids celebrate High Holiday Tashlikh ceremony!

Adat Chaverim is a warm, welcoming and inclusive congregation — and so is our Joe Steinberg Secular Sunday School! The school is an amazing place, and we still have openings for the fall semester. Our students really do look forward to going to Sunday sessions. And some classmates have even brought their friends with them rather than miss a day!

Our educational program spans from Pre-School through 8th Grade — including a uniquely meaningful Bar/Bat Mitzvah program. Students discover Jewish history, culture, values, holidays, music and traditions in a fun, interactive way through role-playing, acting, story telling, crafts, writing and debate.

They are taught by personable and professional educators led by our beloved Director Terry Lieberstein. Parents are included in family programs like the “Chocolate Seder,” the not-to-be-missed Virtual Trip to Israel, Mitzvah Days, “Jewpardy,” etc. Many of our kids are from interfaith and inter-ethnic families, and single parents – and all are welcomed! There is no charge to attend the Open Houses or to join in on a sample class. Classes are held at the American Jewish University, with a few exceptions.

Open House for Sunday, Sept. 25, at 9:30 a.m. at the American Jewish University (AJU) located at 15600 Mulholland Dr., CA, 90077; at the third floor lobby entrance. For Sunday, Oct. 2, Los Encinos Park, Encino, at the Moorpark Street entrance off Balboa.
