The Wesley School Continues to Flourish

Robotics in 2nd Grade at Wesley.

The WesleySchool, kindergarten through 8th grade, was founded 13 years ago and since its founding has grown to enjoy full enrollment, a robust academic and extra-curricular program, and a well-established place in the community of independent schools.

Recently, The Wesley School embarked on an expansion to two classes per grade in the elementary program, facilitating key program and plant upgrades to further enhance the experience for all students. Over the last 15 months, the school has developed a dedicated kindergarten area, affectionately dubbed “Kinderworld,” where the youngest students enjoy a space specifically designed to optimize their learning and social needs. The two 1st grade classrooms have received complete face-lifts, creating spaces that are even more spacious and brighter than before.

The addition of a new classroom bungalow for middle school students came with the development of an outdoor “hang” space that the students are really enjoying, complete with patio tables, awnings, andAdirondackchairs.  The school completely renovated the athletic field, which was stripped, graded, irrigated, and sodded with a heartier and more resilient type of grass, specifically suited to the type of use a school field needs to endure.

The academic program is also enjoying upgrades with the launch of Readers Workshop to complement the already fully integrated Writers Workshop program. The students in 2nd through 5th grade are excited by the addition of a Robotics program to their science curriculum, and the 8th grade is set to participate in the One Million Bones project through Global Nomads Group.
