toSince its founding in 1973, Pet Orphans of Southern California has been dedicated to combating the national crisis of overpopulation, abandonment, and euthanasia through extensive education programs. While focusing on the universal concern, Pet Orphans is committed to serving its community by rescuing and rehabilitating homeless dogs and cats, providing them with exceptional care, and then carefully matching them with suitable adoptive families. In addition to education and rescue, Pet Orphans provides broad community support by offering a wide range of services including medical/financial, spay/neuter, and training assistance, and encouraging responsible pet guardianship, thus reducing abandonment and other consequences that deepen the national crisis.
Pet Orphans has a knowledgeable and trained staff, and volunteers that provide adoption counseling services and companion matching of pets to ensure a happy, permanent home for our pets and their adopters. We believe that it is our responsibility to promote safe pet guardianship and educate on caring for your new pet, as well as provide referrals (training, medical, etc.) when applicable. While it is stressful living in a shelter environment, rest assured that our pet orphans are well-cared for by staff and volunteers who participate in daily socializing of the animals, play-time, grooming, and walks.
We are open seven days a week to the public and welcome you to come and visit our adorable pet orphans!
