“I had completely given up trying to find a dog. I was very specific about what I wanted, and everywhere I turned, I was blocked from getting it. So I turned the situation over to God. I said, ‘Thy will be done, not mine. The perfect dog is going to have to find me,’ which I thought was female, brown, and a Yorkshire terrier,” says Rev. Pamela MacGregor (Rev PAM), Pastor and Director of Science of Mind Spiritual Center Los Angeles (SOMSCLA). “And then along comes this white, male Maltese with a strange name, ‘Bingo,’ whose personality didn’t match his name. He was such a gentleman. I kept calling him, ‘Mister Bing,’ and the name stuck.”
That was 7 1/2 years ago. Today, Mister Bing is SOMSCLA’s mascot for peace and the Director of SOMSCLA’s Pet Ministry, an extension of their Healing Ministry for people. (That’s a wonderful story about a dog that by age 2 ½ already had two previous owners before finding a permanent home with Rev PAM.)
Says Rev PAM, “Mister Bing symbolizes what can happen when people let go of their ego and allow Divine Intelligence to do Its work. As our peace mascot, he carries SOMSCLA’s core message of ‘Making the world a better place spirit to spirit.’” TM
When asked about Mister Bing’s plans for the future, Rev PAM said he wants to combine forces with other like-minded animal organizations and expects the Pet Ministry to hold its first annual event in spring of 2012.
