Stray Cat Alliance (SCA) is committed to the care and protection of the forgotten strays living in the shadows of the world. Their programs are a large piece of the puzzle in creating a “No Kill Nation,” where a home is found for every healthy or treatable companion animal, where feral cats are fixed and properly cared for, and sterilization is readily available.
The number of cats on the streets, impounded and, sadly, killed in pounds, far exceeds that of any other animal. SCA believes if we are to become a truly compassionate nation, we must embrace programs that humanely and effectively reduce the cat population, and implement programs that are innovative and proactive, which save lives, not end them.
SCA is a valuable resource to communities that empowers the public to help in this important cause. Their hotline is available to answer questions and provide resources; loan humane traps and provide training on their use, locate veterinarians and spay and neuter resources. SCA provides cat food, medical support and sponsors free, high-volume spay and neuter clinics when possible. SCA works with local governments, and with private and commercial interests to advocate for feral cats living on public property.
SCA believes every cat’s life is precious and deserves compassion, no matter how young or old, stray or owned. You can support Stray Cat Alliance’s lifesaving efforts by donating cat food, pet store gift cards or volunteering your time.
From now until November 30th, you may bring new, unopened cat food (dry and wet) to The Tolucan Times offices, Monday–Friday from 9:30am-5pm, and we will deliver the donations to the Stray Cat Alliance on your behalf!
