A few years ago finding organic products meant trusting the Internet to make some of your most important household purchases. Today that is the no longer the case. Green Cradle Organic Home, Mattress & Baby recently held a grand re-opening of its Sherman Oaks store, marking its expansion into a 3000+ square foot organic living store. The store’s newly renovated space features organic mattresses, solid wood furniture, organic pillows and accessories for the entire family.
“Leading a healthy lifestyle has reached a new level of mainstream acceptance,” said Green Cradle owner, Edward Olshansky. The search for genuine organic products, however, can be overwhelming to the average consumer in a market saturated with ‘organic’ and ‘all-natural’ claims. Green Cradle scrutinizes every product. According to its owner, “It’s not good enough that the label says organic, the product has to actually live up to its name.”
Deciding where to start a more organic lifestyle can be challenging. The EPA has warned that much of our exposure to toxic chemicals actually occurs from inside our own homes. Changing from a conventional to an organic mattress can be the most vital step in terms of limiting a family’s daily exposure to toxic chemicals. A person spends between 8 to 12 hours of their day lying on their mattress. Conventional mattresses are a cocktail of highly toxic chemical gasses, like Benzene, which when inhaled pose serious health risks.
In celebration of Earth Day, the store is running a special for the month of April, offering a free organic pillow with every purchase of an organic mattress if you mention the Tolucan Times Green Issue.
