Sierra Canyon Students Are Bound for Greatness


Sierra Canyon’s College Counseling Office offers the following statistical overview of the college decisions made by the Class of 2013 as of Friday, May 10 of this year:

There are 84 seniors in the Class of 2013, marking the fifth class to have graduated from Sierra Canyon School. Those 84 seniors submitted 989 applications. Each student submitted an average of 11.8 applications to colleges and universities. Of the 56% applying for early admission programs, 77 percent were admitted. Seniors applied to 259 different colleges and were admitted to 197 colleges and universities, with multiple acceptances at 88 colleges.

We are proud of the fact that Sierra Canyon seniors will matriculate to 57 colleges and universities next September.

The Class of 2013 will attend college in 23 different states (plus Washington, D.C., and Shanghai). 36 students, 43 percent of the class, will attend colleges in California. There are 18 colleges that will enroll two or more members of the Class of 2013, 57 percent will attend private colleges, and 43 percent will attend public institutions.

The smallest undergraduate enrollment at an institution that one of our students will attend is 1,968 students (Bard College, Annandale-on-Hudson NY), while the largest will be 58,404 students (Arizona State, Tempe AZ).
