Village Christian Graduates Admitted to Ivy League, Top-Tier Universities
Congratulations to the Village Christian High School seniors who have been accepted into over 100 universities and colleges nationwide, including top-tier schools such as Harvard, Brown, USC, UCLA, University of Pennsylvania, Occidental College, Pepperdine, and Columbia University.
VCS graduates have also earned $1.5 million in scholarships, grants, and federal aid.
Of the 110 graduates, 30 are “lifers,” or students who have attended VCS since kindergarten. Thirty-five students earned a 3.75 or higher GPA, 34 are California Scholarship Federation seal bearers, and 63 took Advanced Placement classes during high school. The class valedictorian, who plans a career as a neurosurgeon, will enter UC Berkeley this fall as a junior due to the number of AP classes taken.
In addition to being admitted to academically renowned schools, other seniors are attending prestigious music and theater schools like the Cleveland Institute of Music and the highly-selectiveUniversityofMinnesota’s Guthrie Theater program.
This fall VCS will launch its signature academic program, “Concentrations,” a focused course of study that challenges students to pursue knowledge broadly and in-depth. Students will choose a concentration from the 21st interdisciplinary areas of health and environment, fine arts, media studies, ministry and social justice, entrepreneurialism and global leadership, and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math). They will build a core curriculum in their concentration and complete a practicum or internship in their concentration.
