Evergreen’s motto is that they will never stop trying to please every one of their “family” members.

It is not often in today’s American obsession with youth, that it is possible to find a warm caring place that values and appreciates the needs of our senior citizens, in an extended family atmosphere. Evergreen was created and continues to do just that. Begun in the 1980s by Mr. and Mrs. Menlo, Evergreen’s motto was based on the belief that seniors deserved a nurturing atmosphere complete with home-style cooking, a caring staff, and a program integrated with creative, stimulating activities geared to the intellectual and physical needs of their clients. The Menlos who had lovingly cared for their parents wanted to extend their expertise to other “grandmas and grandpas” in the community. Special qualities, in addition to, training and the ability to perform all the necessary duties involved with our more mature population also included an attitude of warmth and respect, which would be the criteria for hiring any staff member.

Today, Evergreen continues to embody all the precepts of its early beginnings and although not everyone can be pleased all the time, Evergreen’s motto, including Avi Heyman, “Director of Happiness,” is that they will never stop trying to please every one of their “family” members. To treat each member as an individual is our goal. If you would like to tour our community or to come in for lunch, please feel free to contact us at (818) 843-8268.
