Villa Scalabrini Retirement Center is located in Sun Valley at the foothills of the Verdugo Mountains. The spacious facility, capable of accommodating up to 130 ambulatory senior citizens in single and some double occupancy rooms, was dedicated on April 22, 1979.
Villa Scalabrini’s community mission is based on the concept that seniors should spend their sunset years in pleasant surroundings, engaged in stimulating activities among their peers. It is a modern, functional structure, universally praised in architectural circles as a model home for senior citizens.
Among the special features of Villa Scalabrini is a spacious and modern chapel for daily Mass, a beautiful dining room, library, arts and crafts room, gym, physician’s room, beauty parlor and gift shop.
Beautifully landscaped grounds surround the residence, offering the opportunity of nature walks and quiet time in the newly added Meditation Garden.
Residents can take advantage of a wide variety of activities, special events and excursions, as well as scheduled transportation to local shopping centers and points of interest.
Villa Scalabrini also houses a skilled nursing unit, Villa Scalabrini Special Care Unit, equipped with 58 beds for short and long term nursing care. Highly rated by Medicare and industry rating organizations, the Care Unit is well known for providing exceptional care to its patients.
The newest addition to Villa Scalabrini is La Piazza, 20 beautiful residences for active seniors aged 55 and older, offering the opportunity to enjoy all the benefits of living in a protected community environment, while maintaining independence and privacy at a cost typically lower than living alone in a home.
