Southwest Chamber Music celebrates its twentieth Summer Festival at The Huntington by presenting a popular blending of familiar favorites with the added spice of musical diversity.
The programs continue every other weekend through Saturday and Sunday, from July 27 and 28 through Aug. 24 and 25. You may order pre-concert dinners at an additional charge in the elegantly romantic Huntington Tea Room or bring a picnic dinner for dining on one of the best lawns in America!
The famous Art Gallery and Rose Garden are open before the concert and at intermission for pre-concert viewing. Watch the sun set over the botanical garden as the concert begins.
The delightful outdoor programs include Mozart’s beloved Eine kleine Nachtmusik, and Baalkah, an exotic work based on Mayan mythology by Gabriela Ortiz, one of Mexico’s leading composers.
You’ll also hear Brahms (the delicious Horn Trio), Stravinsky’s Octet for Winds plus works by Wagner, Reger, and Schoenberg throughout the season.
Soloists include sopranos Delaram Kamareh and Ayana Haviv, and tenor Jon Lee Keenan. Grammy® Award-winning Southwest Chamber Music is composed of some of the best musicians in the area.
