Roughed Up

Hyun-Jin Ryu (3-2) has been reliable, but was roughed up by hard-hitting Colorado, 6-1, last Sunday afternoon at Dodger Stadium.

In five innings, the Korean left-hander gave up six earned runs, no walks, with three strikeouts and nine hits that included Josh Rutledge’s three-run homer in the sixth inning.

The Blue Crew (14-12) pulled ahead 1-0 in the first when Dee Gordon (two hits) bunted safely, went to second on Yasiel Puig’s sacrifice, stole third (13th), and came around on Adrian Gonzalez’s single for his 23rd run batted in.

In Saturday’s 6-3 win over the Rockies, shortstop Hanley Ramirez injured his right thumb and left after three innings, but Gonzalez (two hits with a run) and Matt Kemp (a run with two hits) each slammed solo round-trippers.

The Dodgers led 3-1 in the third when Gordon (two hits and a run) tripled and Ramirez’s grounder plated him.

Puig scored on Gonzalez’s sacrifice fly, Kemp’s bomb gave the Dodgers a two-run edge, while Puig (two hits) had an RBI in the fourth that made it 4-1.

An inning later, Gonzalez creamed his National League-leading eighth homer for his 1,500th big-league hit.

Jamey Wright and J.P. Howell combined to yield three earned runs in the 11th as the Rockies pulled out a 5-4 victory on Friday that offset Puig’s solo homer in the first and Gonzalez’s two-run bash in the 11th that cut the lead to one run.

Juan Uribe’s two-run rocket in the fourth inning wasn’t enough as Philadelphia tallied four runs off Brian Wilson in the ninth as Carlos Ruiz had a two-run double, while Marlon Byrd added a two-run single off Wright that handed the Phillies a 7-3 decision on Thursday.

Zack Greinke (4-0) struck out 11, walked one, gave up five hits and two runs (earned) in seven innings, while Puig (two hits) had two RBIs in a 5-2 blitz on Wednesday.

Ben Revere delivered four hits and a run for Philadelphia in its 3-2 win in 10 innings on Tuesday and pitcher A.J. Burnett added three hits while toiling six and two-third frames.

The Phillies blanked the Dodgers 7-0 on Monday behind Cliff Lee’s four-hitter over eight innings. Lee (3-2) fanned 10 and walked none, and Ruiz (three hits and two runs) had four RBIs.
