A Singing, Dancing Ghost Story at Theatre West
Sally Spectre the Musical arrives right on time for the Halloween scary season. The singing, dancing ghost story is subtitled “A Children’s Horror Story for Adults.” The show contains imagery that may be disturbing and inappropriate for very young children but older kids and teens, as well as adults, can enjoy this new musical.
Creator David P. Johnson sums up the story: “An irreverent but charming musical about the ghost of a little girl who sings and dances her way through a nightmare-laced purgatory with a little guidance from an unlikely and unexpected host of sources.” Johnson helms a cast that includes Rebecca Lane (as Sally), Adam Conger, Roger Cruz, Matthew Hoffman, Kerry Melachouris, Rob Monroe and himself.
‘Beetlejuice,’ ‘Toxic Avenger,’ ‘Frank N. Furter,’ move over: It’s Sally Spectre’s turn to shine in the spotlight of this new macabre musical.
