It is a unique show. Almost beyond description. The most inventive use of pure comedy talent and outrageous creativity. It is ENNIO, featuring Ennio Marchetto — The Living Paper Cartoon, playing for one week only, August 23 to 28, at the historic Pasadena Playhouse.
ENNIO is an ingenious show with an incredible soundtrack that brings 50 famous characters onstage: Lady Gaga, Elvis, Adele, Dolly Parton, Eminem, Beyonce, Fred Astaire and many more. No celebrity is safe from the imagination of Ennio Marchetto, a transformation artist who is revolutionizing the “art of origami” for a hilarious performance with all the superstars. And it is an ultra-fun show that can be enjoyed by all ages.
A comic genius, Marchetto creates extravagant paper cartoon-like costumes and masks that make him magically morph into parodies of all the personalities. He says, “You have to come and see! I can make you believe you see things with very little, just some pieces of fragile flat paper for the complex costumes. It becomes a very large production with a lot of bells and whistles in your imagination.”
His dynamic physical comedy skills make the cabaret show mesmerizing and unforgettable. The Venice, Italy-born performer says he was inspired by Disney cartoons, and has received massive critical acclaim in over 70 countries, exciting audiences around the world.
“Ennio is an extraordinary talent and audiences will once again get to enjoy his unique and wonderful style of performance. This is a perfect event for the entire family,” says Stephen Eich, executive director of the Pasadena Playhouse.
