After 30 days of filming in Los Angeles, Kentucky and Louisiana, Mercury Rising Films is pleased to announce that their upcoming feature “Barracuda” is in the can. Director Shane Woodson and writer/star Christy Oldham completed principal photography in Plaquemine, Louisiana on November 7, 2009. The production began October 6, 2009 in Los Angeles. The feature was filmed on the Red camera with Zeiss primes by Director of Photography Cowboy Bill.
A dark comedy with a strong social message, “Barracuda” will be a sure hit among film festivals and theatergoers. The story follows Summer (played by Christy Oldham), a female portrait artist turned vigilante who bravely takes matters into her own hands when no one else will deliver justice in a cross country adventure in her ‘66 Plymouth Barracuda. Also appearing in the film is director Shane Woodson as antagonist Dudley Johnson.
“Barracuda” bolsters terrific locations, a fantastic original screenplay by Ms. Oldham and a fabulous cast of over 200 actors. “Barracuda,” now in post-production, will have its premiere sometime in the fall of 2010.
“Look out, America. Barracuda is coming to get you!” says Christy Oldham.
