Passion in Painting

“Michelley: Queen of Queens” piece, entitled “Hysterical Bitch.”

I recently had the privilege to meet a very charming young lady who leads a very unusual life.

She goes by her longtime nickname “Michelley Queen of Queens,” and has many varied interests and passions that she has pursued throughout her life. She is a tattoo artist, and has been tattooing for ten years. She displays her art on her body. She also paints unusual artwork with hidden messages that are quite fascinating. You can see some of her work now on display at Frenchy’s Beauty Parlor, 2403 W. Magnolia Blvd. in Burbank.

The salon itself is a very pleasing place, and the staff was quite busy taking care of their customers with the many services they offer. Michelley described one of her paintings, “Hysterical Bitch” (which can be interpreted in many ways) as “a metaphor for the tightrope walked by women between authenticity and falsehood.”

Her paintings are whimsical and charming and reflect her experiences in life. If you can, take the time to stop in and see her work and enjoy the friendly atmosphere of the salon as well.
