Starting November 6, Hollywood’s legendary El Capitan Theatre offers the perfect holiday entertainment package for moviegoers of all ages. First, see an all-new live stage show “Disney’s Holiday Spectacular,” then enjoy “Disney’s A Christmas Carol,” a multi-sensory thrill ride re-envisioned by Academy AwardÒ-winning filmmaker Robert Zemeckis, presented in dazzling Disney Digital 3-D™, November 6 through January 3. The El Capitan Theatre and Disney’s Soda Fountain and Studio Store are open all holidays, including Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Years Day.
Inside the El Capitan, “Disney’s Holiday Spectacular” transforms the theater into a winter wonderland and features singing, dancing and an ensemble of beloved Disney characters celebrating the season. Immediately following, El Capitan audiences will enjoy “Disney’s A Christmas Carol,” which captures the fantastical essence of the classic Dickens tale in a groundbreaking 3D motion picture event.
El Capitan audiences will also get a behind the scenes look at the making of “Disney’s A Christmas Carol” with an exclusive display of real artifacts direct from the Charles Dickens Museum in London, as well as concept art, models, maquettes and costumes used in the making of the film, and much, much more.
And, when you come to visit, be sure to stop by Disney’s Soda Fountain and Studio Store to see our festive and classic holiday store windows. These animated windows have been created in the style of the department stores of yester-year, and reminiscent of the windows at the Emporium at Disneyland.
The Soda Fountain and Studio Store will also offer a special “Christmas Carol” sundae, featuring crushed peppermint stick mixed into rich vanilla ice cream, topped with hot fudge and whipped cream and dusted with red and green sugar sprinkles. Served with two gold and silver foil wrapped chocolate coins.
Commenting on the announcement, Lylle Breier, Senior Vice President, worldwide special events for Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, said, “We are pleased to make Hollywood the headquarters for the Holiday—beginning with our annual classic holiday store windows. Our El Capitan guests are then in for an incredible treat with this exclusive engagement featuring Disney’s new 3-D film, ‘A Christmas Carol,’ along with a fantastic brand new stage show that is sure to get everyone in the holiday spirit.”
Walt Disney Pictures’ “A Christmas Carol” tells the story of Ebenezer Scrooge (Jim Carrey) who begins the Christmas holiday with his usual miserly contempt, barking at his faithful clerk (Gary Oldman) and his cheery nephew (Colin Firth). But when the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come take him on an eye-opening journey revealing truths Old Scrooge is reluctant to face, he must open his heart to undo years of ill will before it’s too late.

Disney’s “A Christmas Carol” plays at the El Capitan Theatre (6838 Hollywood Blvd.) daily at 10am, 1pm, 4pm, 7pm and 9:45pm. Tickets are available at the El Capitan Theatre, online at www.elcapitantickets.com or by calling (800) DISNEY6. Special group rates for parties of 20 or more are available by calling (818) 845-3110.
