Whether you’re in Hollywood on Dec. 11, Palm Springs Dec. 14, or La Mirada Dec. 16 & 17, the Chris Isaacson Presents Upright Cabaret’s “A Broadway Christmas” is a joyous show, according to Broadway star Lillias White. The Tony and Emmy-winner is part of the all-star cast that includes James Tormé, and special guest host David Hernandez, of American Idol fame.
White says, “Our show has some of the best voices on the planet. You can’t go wrong with good songs sung by great singers. You’ll go home humming all the wonderful songs filling your heart with the Christmas spirit.”
What can audiences expect? White says, “We’ll have some of the traditional songs that remind us of why we celebrate Christmas, with my special rendition of ‘Silent Night.’ There will be some ‘Jingle Bells’ and fun stuff too, along with a mix of great Broadway tunes.” Included will be music from Jersey Boys, Wicked, Dreamgirls, etc., backed by brassy horns and sentimental strings.
Adding extra joy there will be some audience participation, which is a great way of getting people in the holiday spirit. Isaacson says, “It’s the perfect holiday gift to give yourself.”
The magical holiday revue is part of the Chris Isaacson Presents the Upright Cabaret series of “American Icon” shows, now beginning its fourth smash year showcased at the best venues in Southern California. “A Broadway Christmas” plays the Catalina Jazz Club Dec. 11, with shows at 7:30 and 10 p.m. It plays the Annenberg Theatre in Palm Springs Dec. 14 at 8 p.m., and the La Mirada Theatre in La Mirada, Dec. 16 & 17 at 7:30 p.m.
