Mike Love, Beach Boys to Be Honored; John Stamos, Darren Criss, Rita Wilson to Appear
Beach Boys fans get your tickets! Mike Love, co-founder of The Beach Boys, will be honored in Beverly Hills Thurs., Feb. 20 at the 21st Annual Ella Awards.
Love will follow in the footsteps of prestigious past honorees including Frank Sinatra, Sir Elton John, Celine Dion, Andy Williams, and Smokey Robinson.
Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988 and recipients of The Recording Academy’s Lifetime Achievement GRAMMY Award, The Beach Boys are a beloved American institution that remains iconic around the world.
The Ella Awards are named after the first honoree, Ella Fitzgerald, and will take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The non-profit Society of Singers, a renowned charitable organization that raises money for singers in need, presents the event.
“For a rock and roll ‘beach boy’ like me to be honored by an esteemed organization is beyond humbling,” Love said. “I’ve been fortunate to do what I love, singing and songwriting, for audiences around the world for more than 50 years. To receive recognition like this makes it all the sweeter.”
The star-studded Ella event, hosted by actor John Stamos, will showcase performances by Rita Wilson, Ariana Grande, Darren Criss, America, Christopher Cross and more.
The Waters Family will receive The Voice Award, while entertainment maverick and cofounder of American Idol, Nigel Lythgoe, will receive the Industry Leadership Award.
Tickets for the Black Tie event range from $250 to $1,250 for a cocktail reception, dinner, and the Awards Show.
