For twenty years, Labor Day has meant a weekend of true festivities for siblings/owners Glenn Treibitz and Cheryl Treibitz-Fox, and their expert staff at the Hollywood Piano Company. While their customers enjoy a long work-free weekend to celebrate, Hollywood Piano owners and staff work tirelessly to get their customers the best possible deals on new and used pianos and keyboards.
Right behind the 5 freeway in the heart of Burbank under giant tents, an impressive inventory of pianos and keyboards, provided as trade-ins from dealers, or brand new by manufacturers who slash their prices specifically for this event, is offered to the public at very special rates. Hollywood Piano also offers carnival-like fare of free hot dogs, popcorn, and sodas for all to enjoy.
Why do the piano-obsessed folks of Hollywood Piano do it? According to owner Glenn Treibitz, this Americana event serves as both a reunion for past customers as well as a chance to grow the Hollywood Piano family with new customers. And in this family owned business, it is all about the pianos and their customers.
How piano-obsessed are they? Each piano gets a 75 point inspection before being put out on the floor, to ensure it meets or even exceeds manufacturer’s specifications. Once purchased, the same inspection takes place at the customer’s home to ensure the same level of perfection.
Hollywood Piano’s 8,000 square foot warehouse features a vast selection of new pianos, as well as an extensive collection of sheet music, and a recital hall dedicated to Glenn and Cheryl’s parents. There are plenty of used pianos that can be rented or purchased, and an upstairs area for both individual and group piano lessons.
If you need yet another reason to go to the Labor Day tent event, why not go for some Hollywood history? Giant photos of pianos featured in various old Hollywood and present-day movies and shows hang from the ceiling of the warehouse, and wall to wall head shots of all the celebrities that have walked through Hollywood Piano’s doors since 1928 are proudly displayed near the entrance.
Here’s an insider tip! If you mention this article when you purchase a piano, you receive an entire month of free piano lessons. So go to Hollywood Piano during their Labor Day tent event, eat a hot dog and some popcorn, fiddle with the keys of a gorgeous piano, and when you make your purchase, mention you read about the Labor Day tent event here to get your free lessons.
