Walking Cane Defense

Fall session for Oct., Nov., & Dec., 2011, is now open enrollment for classes in Walking Cane Defense for Everyone! This class will cover: the basic selection of a cane, both the advantages/ disadvantages; power swinging, thrusting, blocking, and defending; self-defense techniques against weapon attacks; defense from grabs and attacks, tactics, and sequencing; all done in a cooperative learning system; taught by CaneMaster Instructor Toma Rosenzweig. An Evening with Cole Porter

The award-winning San Fernando Valley Master Chorale, Terry Danne, Director, presents an evening with Cole Porter and the joyous music of the Golden State Klezmer Band. The concert will be held at CSUN’s Plaza del Sol Performance Hall, which is a new venue for the annual concert benefit of their Jewish Composers Series. Come early, 7:30 p.m., as special guest, Maurice Engelman, who knew Mr. Porter, will delight us with remembrances of this prolific composer. The audience will be invited to join the Chorale and soloists for a sing-along of Mr. Porter’s most famous songs. The evening will end with the popular Yiddish rhythms of the Golden State Klezmer Band.

Tickets are $25 general admission, 20 seniors and military, and $10 for students. Credit cards will be accepted at the CSUN box office, (818) 677-2488. There will be open seating. Parking is $6 per car for lots G3, B1, or B2.
