Preview to the Louvre Exhibit

The newly opened “Vibul Art Gallery” in Studio City is proud to present the “Preview to the Louvre Museum Exhibit” on Nov. 7. Two of the featured paintings in this special exhibit will be on display in December at the Louvre Museum, Paris, France.

Prostate Cancer 5K

Stop prostate cancer in its tracks by joining thousands at the Second Annual L.A. Prostate Cancer 5K. The L.A. Prostate Cancer 5K, hosted by the USC Institute of Urology and USC Norris Cancer Hospital, is the only event of its kind in California honoring prostate cancer patients, survivors, and loved ones who have passed away because of the disease. Runners, joggers, and walkers of all levels are encouraged to participate in this 5K to be held at the University of Southern California. In addition to the 5K, there will be a health expo where attendees will learn about the latest in prostate cancer treatments and research, along with live entertainment and free giveaways.

Busting Out!

Busting Out! will close Sunday, Nov. 6, at the matinee performance at the Hayworth Theatre in Los Angeles. This limited run marks the North American debut of the show from Australia. Busting Out! created by Emma Powell, is a laugh-out-loud, totally liberating show: part stand up, part musical, part cabaret and all laughter — an uplifting celebration of bouncy songs, wobbly jokes, thigh-slapping sketches, and of course, practical demonstrations of the fascinating lesser-known uses of the leading ladies’ assets.

Red Ribbon Week

Californians for Drug-Free Youth [CADFY] and the Foundation for a Drug-Free World commemorated the 25th anniversary of Red Ribbon Week on Wednesday, Oct. 26, with an awards ceremony at the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre in Hollywood. Awardees included Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, and Mr. Henry Lozano, Director of Los Angeles County Teen Challenge and Urban Ministries Initiatives, who created Red Ribbon Week in 1985.

The Red Ribbon Week Awards honored civic and community leaders in drug education, prevention and rehabilitation.

Congressman Berman Presents Certificate of Recognition to Huntington

United States Congressman Howard Berman, 28th District, California, has presented a Certificate of Recognition for “15 Years of Service to America’s Families” to the Huntington Learning Center in Encino, which is proudly celebrating its 15th anniversary. Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts

Even the rain couldn’t dampen the spirits of the exceptional women being honored by the Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts (PSHA) for their leadership as past presidents of this organization founded in 1948. The event was part of PSHA’s October General Meeting held at Walt Disney Concert Hall on Oct. 5, 2011. At the conclusion of the ceremony, each president was presented with a beautiful long-stemmed red rose.
